I found a use for some of my “stuff”. While organizing my yarn stash, I found quite a few sweater starts I had knit to the arm pits and stuffed away for inspiration– someday– to complete the sweater. Well, I have found a good use for the starts rather than un-knitting them. The Otterbees arrived on Wednesday shivering in the cold. I told them they needed hats, and raced to my collection of starts and whipped up hats for four of them, chopping to the right size and stitching on the machine… voila… HATS.
Isie came with an ornament project and we all gathered around the table to glue and clip and with lots of patience, we made ourselves ornaments…. and managed to chat quite a bit as well. We are not quiet students.
Then we celebrated a birthday and heard of the most wonderful birthday gift ever. Sue’s daughter gave her a box of chocolates, each separately wrapped and one for each year she is old… Inside each chocolate was a note about what the daughter remembered about her mom. There is a letter to follow but she won’t open it til all the chocolate is gone. (If it were me, I would have eaten them all fast but Sue has better restraint than I do.)
We shared quilts in progress, a challenge from a local shop, and the Downton Abby mystery quilt… alas two of us have fallen for that one.
A busy morning and a wonderful one. This is a special group of quilters, knitters,some former teachers,and people willing to try all sorts of new things.
Otter Landing 
I can’t knit but I sure would like to be an Otterbee. You women sure look like you have fun. I saw on Etsy someone was using the sleeves from sweaters as jackets for Ipads and Ereaders.

Love the hats! I can see me in a group like this when I retire! I am a used-to-be quilter and look forward to quilting again someday.
I want to come next time! The box of chocolates gift is such a good idea! We are always looking for meaningful gifts and this would hit the mark. When my mom-in-law and dad-in-law turned 70 and 75 (last year) we made them a scrapbook and each of us (grandkids, kids, in-laws) included a letter or poem in which we told them about why we love them. We put in a lot of pictures. It was lovely! And more appreciated than some of the more expensive gifts we have given in the past.
